Before you start looking for an aged care facility, either for permanent care or respite we suggest having an Aged Care Assessment completed, as most facilities will request you have this before arranging a tour. In addition to this if you want to access the government subsidy you will need an Aged Care Assessment. These are free assessments conducted by Aged Care Assessment Services (ACAS) teams to assist older people and their carers living in Victoria to identify care that will best meet their needs. An assessment can be arranged through government website My Aged Care.
