Aged care workers are expected to support the oldest, most frail members of society on a wage that places them on the lowest rung of health workers nationally.

In order to prepare staff, as well as the general public, for the growing ageing population, and the predicted increase in number of people with dementia, there needs to be more focus on education.

Four free information sessions, operated by Aged Care provider SummitCare will be held at Liverpool Library every Tuesday throughout the month of September from 10:30am until 12:00pm. Located at 170 George Street in Liverpool, the four free sessions are set with the theme of understanding your choices, maintaining control and enhancing your health when working through the ageing processes.

These information sessions, supported by Dementia Australia, Carers NSW and Affinity Aged Care Financial Services, in conjunction with Liverpool City Council and Liverpool Library, are set to provide the public with crucial information about the ageing process and what it means for their individual circumstances. Each session will host an expert speaker, providing in-depth discussion on creating a positive ageing experience for either themselves or a loved one, on set topics for each session.
